CeeLo Green falls off horse during party entrance to celebrate dead rapper's birthday

CeeLo Green fell off a scared horse as he looked to make a grand entrance at the memorial birthday party thrown for dead rapper Shawty Lo.

Disturbing video footage has emerged of CeeLo, 47, arriving on horseback at the Atlanta bash for fellow rapper Shawty, who died at the age of 40 in a 2016 car crash.

In the clip, the poor animal clearly looks spooked by the crowd and lights as the pair enter The Bank nightclub venue.

Following attempts by staff to calm the horse, all hell then breaks loose when it jolted, causing its legs to slip and buckle on the tile floor.

CeeLo, who is believed to weigh 18.5st, also crashed to the deck during the chaotic scenes.

It has been reported that nobody was hurt in the incident, although hip-hop star CeeLo’s actions were slammed by fellow singer Leona Lewis, animal rights campaigners PETA and a host of enraged social media posters.

An angry Leona took to Instagram to write: “Animal cruelty. Shame on you @ceelogreen.

“This poor horse is lame and can’t even walk. He’s clearly terrified and being dragged around. Unbelievable how a truly sentient and beautiful creature is being degraded like this.”

PETA, meanwhile, told TMZ: “It doesn’t take a genius to know that horses don’t belong at a noisy, crowded party, where slippery floors and strobe lights can agitate these vulnerable animals.

“If CeeLo bumped his head, PETA’s hoping it knocked some sense and compassion into him. PETA encourages others to not follow in his footsteps, use common sense and kindness and leave animals alone.”

Twitter users were no less forgiving with one suggesting: “He needs to donate to a horse sanctuary and pay the medical expenses for that horse.”

Another disbelieving poster wrote: “What on Earth was @CeeLoGreen thinking? Wait…he wasn’t. #AnimalCruelty.”
