Michael Bublé kicks off UK tour after admitting to having 'loads of sex' during lockdown

Michael Bublé kicked off his UK arena tour at London’s O2 with a bang after a four-year wait.

The multi-Grammy-winning Canadian showman took to the stage looking dapper as ever in an all-black suit and his trademark shiny shoes.

He opened his show with a groundbreaking performance of Feeling Good, alongside a live band which brought more life and colour to Michael’s show.

The 47-year-old showed off his charismatic and cheeky personality as he regularly chatted with the audience, dedicating a song to one guest, Sharon, and wishing a young fan a happy birthday after encouraging the entire arena of 15,000 people to sing her happy birthday.

Michael told fans that the show was in fact a celebration of life, and a party, not a show.

“Tonight is a celebration of life,” he shouted. “Through a whole pandemic, we spent so much time eating loads, watching Netflix loads, having sex loads. Not tonight… not tonight.”

He continued: “Tonight is a celebration of being together again, it’s a party! It’s not a show, it’s a party!”

After performances of Haven’t Met You Yet, You Were Always On My Mind, Sway and Cry Me A River, he apologised to fans for “being too sexy”.

“I need to take responsibility for it but it’s also your fault for not being able to take it!” he laughed.

Michael paid tribute to the King of Rock, Elvis Presley and recalled meeting his ex-wife Priscilla and “asking her loads of questions”.

He thanked Baz Luhrmann, who directed the new biopic featuring Austin Butler as Elvis, for encouraging a “resurgence” in his popularity.

Michael sang Fever and Fools Rush In in memoriam of the late singer.

His tour comes off the back of his Grammy win in early February as he celebrated his 20th anniversary and 26th performance at the venue on Sunday as part of the Higher Tour.
