Gordon Ramsay has been issued a major blow as his ITV show has been axed by bosses after just one series.
Next Level Chef, followed 12 budding chefs battling it out in an epic 50ft-tall three-story kitchen to bag £100,000 and a year of mentoring.
In the show, Gordon was joined by industry professionals Paul Ainsworth and Nyesha Arrington, as all three of them judged the team of talented cooks.

However, the programme will not be back for another series after a “ratings flop” leaving Gordon feeling “gutted.”
A source told The Sun: “Gordon is highly competitive and he’s gutted the series wasn’t given a second run.
“These types of shows always take a while to get going and for viewers to connect, so he thinks it wasn’t really given a proper chance.”
The insider added: “But he accepts TV is a brutal world and sometimes shows just don’t work out.”
A spokesman for ITV told the publication: “There are no current plans for a second series but viewers can watch series one on ITVX.”
Social media chef Jade Greenhalgh won the first and only series earlier this month.
Speaking about her win, Gordon said: “Jade is the absolute character that Next Level Chef personifies: humble, focused, earnest.
“Earnest is something that you don’t see a lot in today’s world, especially in cooking as it’s all flamboyant. Her approach is just so goddamn down to earth.”
When the show premiered back in January, ITV said at the time: “For the first time ever incredible home cooks will compete against professional chefs and social media chefs.
“Every week they’ll all have only seconds to grab ingredients to cook with, and then only minutes to create an outstanding dish, before a nail-biting finish to even get their dish tasted by the Mentors.
“The outrageous three-story kitchen ranges from the luxurious top flight kitchen, all the way down to the very basic basement kitchen – meaning the chefs must prove they can make magic even in the worst circumstances.”
In other Gordon news, the second series of his BBC one show starts on Thursday (March 30).
The show, Future Food Stars, features 12 new contestants hoping for investment in culinary businesses.
