Paul O’Grady cheated in a dogs’ race at Crufts – by strapping a biscuit to his watch.
The much-loved star, who died suddenly last week aged 67, agreed to enter a Staffordshire Bull Terrier in a race at the show to boost the breed’s ‘bad reputation’.
Telly viewers were stunned when the presenter – who had five rescue dogs with husband Andre – raced round the course with pooch Frank in the fastest time, earning them a rosette.

Eleven years on from his famous victory Ali Taylor, from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, let slip the secret to his success – he cheated.
The crafty star fixed a dog biscuit to his watch so Frank would follow his every move.
Ali said it was one of her “favourite memories” of Paul who was an ambassador for the London charity which has been blitzed with £130,000 in donations following his death.
She said: “I said beforehand: ‘You can’t bring treats in’. The rules were fairly strict.
“But Paul had a dog biscuit attached to his watch.
“He was running around the course over all the agility jumps. After that, the Staffie community adored him.
“The thing about Paul was that he always supported the underdog.”
Meanwhile, Paul’s close friend and Casualty actress Amanda Mealing has shared the TV star’s final wish for his funeral.
Amanda and Paul had been close friends for 35 years after meeting in the showbiz circuit, and the actress spoke to her pal about how he wanted his life to be celebrated.
She said: “He just told us to have a good time. He’d hate it if everyone was morose. Whatever happens, Paul’s funeral will be a celebration of his life and it will be full of laughter.
“He would just say: ‘’I don’t care, I won’t be here! Do whatever you want’.”
