A sourced told The Sun: “A TV insider told The Sun: “Phillip is on pre-planned leave and is due to return after the Easter holidays.”
Holly was joined by Alison Hammond and Joel Dommett on This Morning last week.
Alison and Dermot O’Leary are covering the show during Phillip and Holly’s pre-scheduled break from April 3.
Phillip was last seen on the show on Thursday, March 23.
It comes after Phillip’s brother Timothy Schofield was found guiltyof sexually abusing a teenage boy over the course of three years at Exeter Crown Court.
Timothy, 54, was charged with 11 sexual offences involving a child between 2016 and 2019, including two counts of sexual activity with a child.
Timothy denied performing sexual acts on the teenager and claimed they watched pornography together and had masturbated while sitting apart.
Following the verdict, Phillip said in a statement: “My overwhelming concern is and has always been for the wellbeing of the victim and his family. I hope that their privacy will now be respected.
“If any crime had ever been confessed to me by my brother, I would have acted immediately to protect the victim and their family.
“These are despicable crimes, and I welcome the guilty verdicts. As far as I am concerned, I no longer have a brother.”
Holy and Phillip have presented This Morning together since 2009 and the show typically airs from 10am to 12:30pm every weekday.
Phillip has been the main presenter since 2002 and also presents ITV shows Dancing on Ice, The Cube and 5 Gold Rings.
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 10am
