Jeremy Renner’s body was ‘reconstructed’ with metal plates after the Hollywood actor was run over by a snow-plough at the start of the year.
The Marvel Hawkeye star, 52, suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries on January 1, 2023, when he was run over by his 14,330lb Snowcat snow plough.
The actor was later airlifted to hospital from a private road, and was said to be in a critical but stable condition after undergoing surgery.

Following the accident, Jeremy took to social media to thank fans and friends for their support – as well as revealing that he suffered more than 30 broken bones as a result of the accident.
He shared a photograph of himself lying on a hospital bed, as he posted a message saying: “I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness. Much love and appreciation to you all.
“These 30 plus broken bones will mend, grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens.”
Mail Online has since reported that the actor sustained massive injuries including a shattered right knee, broken jaw and broken clavicle, as well as a punctured liver and a collapsed lung.
He was also left with a condition known as “flail chest,” with the publication saying the star’s “eight ribs were broken in 14 pieces as a result of the blunt chest trauma – an injury known as ‘flail chest’, defined as three or more ribs broken in at least two places.
“Flail chest causes part of the rib cage to become separated from the chest wall instead of rigidly holding the normal shape of the chest.
“The broken bones pierced his liver and likely caused his lung to collapse.”
Following the accident, Jeremy underwent surgery that saw doctors surgically attach metal plates into his torso to stabilise his ribcage.
Further plates were used to reconstruct a collapsed eye socket and a metal rod was added to his shin to help hold it together.
The Marvel star is set to discuss the accident in a new interview with American talk show host Diane Sawyer, which will air later this week.
Talking about the incident, Jeremy can be heard saying in the interview: “This whole [right] side of my body, I don’t really feel sensitivity to touch, but it’ll grow. I can feel it, the change already in two months.
“I feel hardly any of my teeth on the upper part because they went inside my face to put in two plates because of an orbital crack. I’m learning to speak again.”
Jeremy adds: “I was on asphalt and ice. It feels like you imagine it. I could see my eye from my other eye. I was seeing stars… I moved my legs, and I said, that one’s really messed up. That leg is going to be a problem.”
