But on Sunday (April 9) the mum-of-one took to her Twitter account to share some exciting career news – but she was miles away from the ITV studios.
In the clip, Laura was walking through a busy airport and told her fans: “Hello and happy Easter! I am at the airport and I’m not sure I should tell you where I am going.
“I am going somewhere on a trip for GMB and it’s a long way and somewhere really hot.”
Teasing even more she added: “And it is to bring you some very cool science, you know me I love science, so we’re doing that on GMB later this week – see you then.”
Followers soon rushed to the reply section with excitement and support for Laura, with one writing: “Can’t wait … you are such a bright star for other girls.”
The same social media user went on: “And so professional and knowable on all thing weather and planet ..keep up the great work you do …”
Another person added: “Have a great time away,” and someone else said: “Take care Laura!”
“Great to see you. Missed you on GMB. Look forward to seeing you soon on GMB. Be safe lovely Laura,” gushed a fourth follower.
Laura has been a feature on the popular ITV show for 10 years after leaving the BBC to join the new Daybreak programme – which was replaced by GMB in 2014.
The weather presenter revealed last year that she had a surprise RAF career before joining TV.
The weather reporter spoke exclusively to the Daily Star at the Pride of Britain Awards in October.
When asked what the hardest part of working on the ITV morning show was – she revealed it was her rota.
Laura said: “The hardest part is the five days a week – not the earliest shift.
“I used to do two days and two nights in the RAF and I’d be on shifts so you get to have days off.”
Laura then revealed exactly what she got up to during her role in the RAF.
“I was forecasting the weather for pilots’ flights for all over the world. So, I worked at Brize Norton which is their airport and they used to fly to Iraq, Afghanistan and all then all the way to Australia and the Falklands.”
