Upset Netflix users ‘can’t stop crying' at streaming site’s ‘saddest film ever’

One Netflix movie has been branded the streaming site’s “saddest film ever” and fans “can’t stop crying” after watching it.

The film is Five Feet Apart, starring Haley Lu Richardson and Cole Sprouse.

The teen drama follows two teenagers diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, who meet in hospital and fall in love.

But their shared disease means they have to stay five feet apart at all times to avoid infection – and if Cole’s character Will so much as breathes on Haley’s Stella she could lose her chance of a lung transplant.

The flick is based on the book of the same name by Rachael Lippincott, released in 2019.

Following the two teens as they navigate their own health and relationship, the story is nothing if not a tear-jerker – and it’s had Netflix users sobbing on social media.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer penned: “If you wanna cry, like snot cry, watch Five Feet Apart on Netflix. Whew!”

“Five Feet Apart is on Netflix and my god it made me bawl like a baby!” someone else wrote.

While a third subscriber said: “Five Feet Apart is on Netflix. I remember bawling my eyes out while watching this on my flight and it was time for dinner and the stewardess was like, ‘Hi miss, do you want chicken, beef or fish? Or a tissue?’”

More fans branded the film the “saddest movie ever”, with one fan writing: “If anyone’s wanting to cry until it hurts, then watch Five Feet Apart on Netflix. Hands down the saddest f***ing movie I have ever watched!”

“Five Feet Apart on Netflix is the saddest film ever!” someone else agreed.

It’s not the only teen hospital drama to have fans sobbing.
