No arrests have yet been made, and a police investigation is ongoing.

Wright confirmed in a statement that he was closing the restaurant, first opened in August 2015, out of respect for the victim.

Revealing his sorrow, Elliott said: “This weekend we lost a much loved and valued member of our team.

“Our hearts are broken and we have closed the restaurant today and tomorrow out of respect. We are supporting our staff and the family whilst awaiting news of further investigations.”

The restaurant, which had been gutted in a previous arson attack in April 2021, had to close for two days as police continued their investigation.

CCTV footage recovered from the restaurant will be used to assist with the investigation into the incident.

Investigators are seeking through the post-mortem and footage from the CCTV cameras to determine exactly how and why the doorman died.

Wright’s father, Edward George, died from coronavirus five weeks before Olivia La Cala was gutted in an arson attack in April 2021.

The devastating blaze occurred just as the restaurant was preparing to reopen after being closed for refurbishment.

Elliot appeared on TOWIE between 2013 and 2015.
