Netflix users have been left “physically sick” at one of the streaming site’s most disgusting horror films.
2019 thriller The Platform – or El Hoyo in its native Spanish – sees inmates trapped in a vertical prison with one cell on each level.
As if dark concrete rooms with no escape weren’t enough to chill your bones, each day a food platform descends from the very top of the prison – where a gourmet meal is laid out – to the bottom.

Prisoners are given two minutes per day to feed on whatever leftovers the people above leave, and by the time the platform has descended far down enough, the food is left rotting and picked over.
Obviously it’s enough to make anyone retch.
The film follows main character Goreng and his cellmate Trimagasi, who both live on level 48 – but are soon relegated to level 171.
With plenty of cannibalism to go around, the inhumane conditions of The Pit begin to get worse – and one scene with a prisoner eating her own dog will have you reaching for the sick bucket.
Despite the film being released four years ago, many users are only just discovering the horror for themselves.
Taking to Twitter to share their first impressions, one user said: “I’m watching The Platform on Netflix and WTF is this?!”
Someone else said: “I’m trying to watch the movie on Netflix called The Platform and I’m so sick right now. Like I wanna throw up.”
“The Platform on Netflix is such a sick movie [vomit emoji],” another viewer agreed.

As somebody else posted: “There is this movie called The Platform on Netflix and it is just sick, the entire concept of it and there are so many unanswered questions. In the end I was like is that all?!”
Someone else simply branded it a “sick a** movie”.
