Scared of the Dark series two ‘going to be a problem’ as star admits concerns over cast

Scared of the Dark series two is “going to be a problem”.

The brand new Channel 4 show sees eight celebrities live, eat and sleep in the dark for 180 hours in a world first.

Paul Gascoigne, Scarlett Moffatt, Chris McCausland, Donna Preston, Chloe Burrows, Max George, Chris Eubank and Nicola Adams all took part in the experiment for the first series.

However, due to the extreme nature of the program, Vogue Williams thinks bosses could struggle to find more famous faces to take part next week.

Speaking at the press launch, host Vogue asked Scared of the Dark presenter Danny Dyer: “Would you do it yourself?’

He replied: “Absolutely not, are you off your head?

She added: “I think it’s going to be a problem for series two, I don’t know how you’re going to get more people for series two.”

Swerving the comment, Danny continued: “I did 10 minutes in there and it was awful.

“I couldn’t work my way around the room and I really did feel for them. I got stuck in the corner and I couldn’t move.”

During the third of the series, which ended on Thursday (April 20), angry viewers threatened to complain to Ofcom about “animal cruelty” following a challenge involving a live rabbit.

Gazza and Chloe were the first two to take on the challenge, which involved them having to stick their hands into five boxes and trying to guess what was inside them.

In the first one was the cute white bunny, and it appeared to jump as they started to prod it around.

Even before celebs had started the challenge a loud klaxon sounded, making Gazza and Chloe jump, and then they both screamed as they started to touch the rabbit – an animal that is naturally frightened.

Watching the challenge from outside, presenter Danny said: “Poor little Thumper. and viewers immediately went bonkers on social media.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Who made that decision @Channel4 to do that to the poor Rabbit? #AnimalCruelty #ScaredOfTheDark.”
