Emmerdale King family now – ditching fame, starting families and major transformation

Emmerdale viewers are gearing up to get a blast from the past, as a former villain is set to return to the Dales next week.

Reportedly, none other than baddie Thomas King is to make a big comeback on the ITV soap.

Tom King Jr, who was first played by Mark Flanagan, first appeared in 2004 and left in 2013 as he planned to runaway and start a new life after he was embroiled in a vicious stalking storyline.

And as viewers will know Tom is part of one of Emmerdale’s most popular families – the King Family.

Consisting of Tom and his four sons Tom, Jimmy, Matthew and Max, the family didn’t mind throwing their money about and making a few enemies in the Dales.

But one by one their general bad behaviour killed them off – and only one original King brother remained in the village – only to leave nearly 10 years ago.

So as Tom, now played by Newcomer James Chase, is set to make his big comeback on the ITV soap, Daily Star is taking a deep dive into the King Family.

Actor Tom Lister won the hearts of millions as Carl King on Emmerdale earning him critical acclaim and several award nominations, including a British Soap Award for Villain of the Year.

The Leeds-born star’s impressive career has continued to flourish after his exit from Emmerdale, with the talented actor taking on roles in several high-profile productions.

He’s graced the stage in the iconic musical “42nd Street,” wowed audiences in the thriller “The Doll Maker,” and showcased his acting chops in the popular medical drama “Doctors.”

In a series of topless photos, Lister showed off his impressive physique, explaining that he had been working with an online coach for the past six months to shed the pounds.

As Lister himself explained on Instagram, the COVID-19 pandemic had taken a toll on his self-esteem and motivation, leading him to gain weight and feel “pretty [bleep] all round.”

He wrote: “Covid hit me HARD in terms of lack of work opportunities, leaving me feeling a bit bereft and low on self esteem and motivation.

This resulted in me piling on the weight and feeling pretty [bleep] all round.” He then announced: “I have lost over 16kg (2.5 Stone in old money) and I haven’t been this lean for over 20 years.”

Fans may not know Nick also appeared in Guy Ritchie’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in a scene with none other than Sting prior to his Emmerdale role.

The star admitted that when he found out his character was getting a screen wife played by the stunning Patsy Kensit, the Emmerdale green room was buzzing with excitement.

Nick recalls walking in like a “terrified zombie” as everyone pointed at him and called him “Mr. Kensit.”
