James Corden broke down in tears during the final episode of Carpool Karaoke after his guest and pal Adele sang a song which was about him.
During the episode, the singer revealed that she went on a family vacation with James, his wife Julia Carey, their three kids and her son Angelo in 2020.
She told him she penned I Drink Wine after he hinted he wasn’t happy with his life in America during the trip.

The pair then welled up as Adele belted out the song.
They also both cried as they discussed their friendship and how they have supported each other over the years.
After they had a sing-song to Adele’s Hometown Glory, both weeped once more as Adele told her pal: ”You’re one of my best friends in the whole world.”

The singer admitted the host’s revelation made her feel ”unsafe”, because she looked up to James and saw him as an ”adult” since she was aged 21.
She said: ”And then I went to the studio a couple of weeks later, and I wrote this and I sang it into my phone and I sent it to you and I do remember you saying, ‘That’s exactly how I was feeling’.'”

James explained as he welled up: “It was everything that I was feeling that day. I was floored by how you’d managed to take everything that I was feeling myself, and… life, and just put it in a verse.
”It was work stuff, and the Internet, and all those things.”
Adele also broke down in tears while she drove James to work as she discussed her divorce from Simon Konecki and revealed James helped her through the split by going on holiday with her.

Adele said: ”And we were on our way home and my mood had changed and it was like the first year that I felt like I had to hold myself accountable, for just being an adult, whereas the year before that I left Simon, you and Jules and the kids were so integral in looking after me and Angelo.
”You used to do it with humour as well, you used to be like, ‘good luck with that one!’ with any sort of thing that I was pursuing, and you were always so, you were like an adult with me, you and Julia would always give me this advice.”
Adele divorced Simon in March 2021, two years after announcing their split.
