ITV I’m A Celeb South Africa viewers ‘switch off’ after ‘most disgusting trial ever’

I’m A Celeb viewers were threatening to switch off on tonight’s episode (May 3) after watching what some viewers have described as the “most disgusting trial ever.”

Newcomer Joe Swash and Dean Gaffney were last night told they have to drink a series of disgusting cocktails in a bid to win treats for members of the camp.

But as they attempted to chug cocktails of wild blended animal parts and a slushy of muddled eyes, they were seen wretching, gagging and vomiting.

Even host Ant McPartlin chimed in, calling it: “possibly the most disgusting piece of television I’ve ever been a part of”

Viewers agreed, taking to Twitter to comment.

“Literally fast forwarded the first 18 minutes of #i’maceleb so I didn’t have to watch two grown men be sick,” said one viewer.

“I can’t watch these eating ones coz these two have the worst gag reflexes !,” said another.

A third chimed in: “Is that vomiting bit over now? I can’t watch..” while a fourth penned: “switching off.”

But viewers also heaped praise on the show for the entertaining scenes.

“That was such an entertaining trial,” gushed one fan.

“Haven’t laughed so much in ages! TV gold watching Dean Gaffney and Joe Swash on the trial,” said a second, while a third added: “That trial with Joe and Dean was absolute COMEDY GOLD gonna put it out there and say it’s the best trial I’ve ever seen.”

The show saw a major shake-up to it’s usual format as the campmates were split into two groups.

Former jungle King Joe Swash and former EastEnders star Dean Gaffney became group captains and picked members for their team ahead of their first task.

Myleene Klass and Jordan Banjo were selected to partner up for the task against Fatima Whitbread and Georgia Toffolo.

The task, dubbed snakes and ladders, saw the teams navigate their way through confusing box of mystery tunnels and obstacles ad they attempted to avoid the snakes that filled the boxes.

The teams were told that they would win a fully cooked picnic to enjoy at the waterfall with their fellow team members if they were victorious.

After finding themselves neck and neck Jordan and Myleene were ultimately victorious, as Georgia looked on, saying: “I could cry.”
