GMB set for major schedule shake-up as Kate Garraway says co-star ‘ruins’ surprise

Good Morning Britain is set for a major schedule shake-up, with viewers getting an extra episode this week thanks to the King’s Coronation.

Just like most of the country, the ITV show has gone mad for the royal event, with hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway sharing some special news for viewers.

They revealed that there would be an episode of the morning show on Saturday (May 6) leading up to the Coronation of King Charles III.

And Kate had some more exciting news, as she explained that she would be presenting from Buckingham Palace, so would be there to let everyone know when King Charles was on the move.

The episode will air on ITV from 6am and run up until 8.30am, before the channel kickstarts its coverage of the day with King Charles III: The Coronation, which will dominate screens until 3pm.

Showbiz host Richard Arnold later made an appearance and teased fans on what they could be expecting from the episode, mentioning Kate’s boots.

Laughing, she told him: “I only got away with the boots because Debbie in wardrobe said, ‘nobody will see your feet.’

“I’m having to be all classy. You’ve ruined it for me.”

Of course, talk soon turned to the Eurovision Song Contest, with the annual event taking place in Liverpool just one weekend after the Coronation.

Richard was clearly excited about back to back events for the UK too, as he joked he might wake up in a skip after the events of the Coronation.

But he went on: “It’s a big week for the bunting. At least there’s no reason to take it down.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
