Katy Perry’s mega entourage ‘takes up five dressing rooms’ at Coronation concert

Katy Perry jetted into Britain with a royal-sized entourage ahead of the US singer’s appearance at tonight’s (Sunday’, May 7s) star-studded Coronation music spectacular – taking up five backstage dressing rooms.

The I Kissed a Girl superstar, 38, who has taken a week off her Vegas residency to appear at the major event, is expected to have more than 50 aides on site at Windsor Castle.

The Mirror reported that the celebrity’s team includes management, hair and make-up artists, costume designers, her sound engineering people, lighting specialists and her dance team.

The staff members, travelling in 10 Mercedes people carriers, are being allocated five dressing rooms, with sources revealing that the Firework singer’s demands include luxury sofas, fresh flowers and a refrigerator with a glass door.

One said: “Katy has easily the biggest entourage of any on the bill,” adding: “But she has a trusted team who she always works with and relies upon. They know exactly how she likes things done… and will make sure they’re done to the letter.

“When it comes to her backstage rider, she isn’t over the top, but there are a few things she always asks for. They make her feel relaxed.”

Katy, who flew to London in first class following an invitation by King Charles III, is due to stay overnight at Windsor Castle before flying back to the US.

Speaking earlier this month about her Coronation invitation, the former wife of the British comedian Russell Brand said: “I’m grateful to have been asked. It’s very exciting,” adding: “It (the invite) was very regal – I loved it. I’m an ambassador to one of his foundations… he asked me to sing and it all aligned.”

She added: “I might be posting a lot because I’m going to be in a castle for real. This is wild.”

Katy, who arrived in London without fiance Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares a young daughter, due to his work commitments, was unveiled last month as part of the line-up for the Coronation concert being held in the castle’s grounds.

Other celebs set to take to the stage in celebration of King Charles III’s Coronation yesterday (Saturday, May 6) include Nicole Scherzinger, Paloma Faith, Take That, Lionel Richie, Andrea Bocelli, Sir Bryn Terfel and Steve Winwood.
