Mark was recently forced to deny that he underwent gastric band surgery and said he was able to lose weight through diet and exercise.

He told The Sun: “I’m not really trying to diet, I’m just being sensible, people say you’ve had the gastric sleeve or band, and I haven’t’.

“I was tempted by the gastric band but a good friend of mine who’s a GP, said my problem is sugar, I have a sweet tooth.”

The star went on to add that weight loss surgery wouldn’t be ideal for him.

He added: “A gastric band is useless for me because sugar metabolises quite quickly, so I’ve done it the old fashion way by eating a bit less and I’ve tried to go to the gym.”

Gastric band surgery, which is also referred to as bariatric or metabolic surgery, can drastically aid a person’s weight loss when a band is placed around the stomach.

This then creates a small pouch towards the top which takes less food to fill.

Celebrities such as TOWIE star James Argent previously underwent gastric band surgery in 2021 and was able to go from 27 to 14 stone.

Earlier this year he told Mail Online: “I am confident in the bedroom now… regardless of whether it’s romantically or by a beach or in clothes, across the board I am more confident now in all of those areas.

“Whether you’re a man or woman or have a dream body from the outside, everyone has certain parts of their body they wish they could improve, or they don’t like no matter who you are.

“I am body confident now.”
