2024 UK Eurovision entry ‘revealed’ as fans demand shake-up after disappointing result

Eurovision UK fans have revealed which mega-star they want to represent us next year – as plenty demand a major shake-up.

This year’s hit singing competition officially came to an end on Saturday night (May 13) with Swedish star Loreen storming to victory to take home the coveted trophy.

The UK unfortunately, didn’t do quite as well and ended up with just 24 points and came in second last place. They beat only Germany, who managed to bag 18 points.

But even though the jaw-dropping competition is over for another year, speculation is already rife on which UK act will give it a go in 2024.

And according to the bookies, Brits want music superstar Adele to take to the Eurovision stage – when it goes to Sweden next year.

A recent poll carried out by Ladbrokes found that one in five people want Adele to represent the UK.

Fans put the Hello hitmaker ahead of fellow stars like Ed Sheeran (19%) and Robbie Williams (17%).

And fans might just get their wish too, as bookies have odds of 12/1 for Adele to strut her stuff across the Eurovision stage.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Mae Muller failed to reach the dizzy heights of Sam Ryder in Liverpool last night, and with attention now turning to Sweden next year, Brits are desperate to see a huge shake-up on the entrant front in the shape of a surprise appearance from Adele.”

The 2023 Eurovision Grand Final was an epic night, jam-packed with show-stopping performances and even a few awkward blunders too.

Minutes into the episode airing, it was thrown into chaos minutes after a performer kicked their shoe into the crowd.

Ukrainian drag act and previous Eurovision competitor Verka Seduchka took to the stage during the opening number at the M&S Arena in Liverpool.

They wowed fans with a performance of the iconic Dancing Lasha Tumbai – which they became famed for during the 2007 competition.

But at the end of the song, Seduchka, real name Andriy Mykhailovych Danylko, was seen energetically dancing while kicking their legs in the air.

However, in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, the performer seemed to get a little too excited as one of their shoes went flying into the air and into the crowd watching.

Commentator of the night Mel Giedroyc spotted the moment, asking viewers at home: “Did Verka just lose a shoe?!”
