Bodybuilder and former international athlete Matt Morsia has been named as Legend. He said he has been training like a “beast” for the show.
He added: “I’m called Legend for a reason! I can only apologise for the irreparable damage I’m about to do to the contenders.
“Actually, that’s a lie, I’m not sorry at all. I’m actively looking forward to it.”
Fire said being a Gladiator has been her “lifelong dream.”
She added: “As a strong and powerful woman, I’m living proof that you can achieve your dreams, no matter what age or background, if you believe and keep pushing. I’m ready to light up the competition!”
They will join both Fury ( Jodie Ounsley) and Steel ( Zack George) as they prepare to take on the ultimate challenge.
Fans took to Twitter to react to the new reveal.
One person said: “They don’t look very unique.”
“The Gladiators line-up is basically the Love Island castoffs,” complained another viewer.
Some fans couldn’t help but compare them to the old Gladiators.
One person wrote: “Gladiators back in the day was great and of it’s time. There’s no way they could recreate the success it had back then. Leave it where it was and make something new.”
Another said: “Does anyone remember when Gladiators were characters? Like do you remember Wolf? Scary and never said a word.”
Bradley Walsh and his son Barney have been announced as the hosts for the reboot.
Speaking of his new role, Bradley said: “Wow! I can’t believe that I’ve been asked to be part of this iconic show.
“I used to sit backstage, or in the audience, every week watching my wife be part of this juggernaut and now I get to co-host a new version of Gladiators! Saturday night family entertainment at its best…”
