This Morning’s Alison Hammond ‘devastated’ and shares sweet message as co-worker leaves

Alison Hammond says she’s “devastated” after her This Morning co-worker decided to leave the ITV morning show.

The host paid tribute to Ella Bates who has worked on the show for several years alongside Alison.

In a post, Alison said: “I am absolutely devastated that Ella Bates is leaving. She has been a breath of fresh air every single day.”

Alongside the caption was a photo of Alison sitting on a sofa with Ella outside The Rovers Return on the set of Coronation Street.

Ella has worked behind the scenes of the show for several years as a digital producer on This Morning.

Fellow This Morning star, Josie Gibson also took to social media to share a tribute to the producer.

“The day we got caught in the rain at @coronationstreet while filming @thismorning and then the sunshine came out. When I say sunshine I mean @ella.bates beautiful face,” said Josie.

“Ella I am so so sad to see you leave us. You lighten up any room with your magical energy.

“You are Golden my friend and your going places with that special energy of yours.

“I know you’re going to live out your dreams but we are going to miss you so very much.”

The news comes as viewers predict a potential shake up on the show during the fallout of the ongoing drama between hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

In recent weeks, it was reported that an insider source revealed that Phillip Schofield had been nicknamed ‘The Grim Reaper’ by staff on set, due to the way they felt he treated people behind the scenes.

It was also alleged that the relationship between the long-time host and Holly had soured, with the pair “barely speaking” when the cameras weren’t rolling.

A dive in public satisfaction towards Holly and Phil hosting This Morning has also caused viewers to encourage ITV bosses to change up the hosting line up, with Alison Hammond being one of the favourites to take on a more leading role.
