Love Island bosses approach This Morning’s Alison Hammond’s son as star is ‘flattered’

Love Island bosses were eyeing up Alison Hammond’s son for the upcoming series of the show.

Her 18-year-old son would have been the youngest celebrity offspring to go into the show – after Gemma Owen who was just 19 years old when she joined the reality show.

It could have meant Alison Hammond would have featured on the show if Aiden had managed to get himself all the way to Meet The Parents, but sadly, the dream has not come to fruition.

A source told The Sun that Alison was “flattered” that her son had been approached for the TV show.

However, Aiden reportedly turned them down.

They added: “Producers know that contestants with a famous parent are a huge hit,” and fans would have loved to see Alison join the show for a single episode – and react to her son being on TV.

Sadly, he won’t be appearing on the summer series of the show, but fans will be able to find out exactly who is taking part in mere weeks.

The summer series usually kicks off the first week of June and fresh new singles will be heading into the villa.

One rumoured contestant is 21-year-old Andre Furtado who is said to be “intelligent, creative and handsome”, with bosses hoping he’ll become a favourite among the females.

24-year-old Molly Marsh, who is the daughter of actress Janet Marsh, is also set to be heading into the villa.

Molly was reportedly scouted after visiting the South Africa villa earlier this year as she “made it clear” that she would love to be on the show, a source told The Sun.

Maya will be back as the host this year

Maya Jama will be returning to the villa this summer as the host of Love Island after well and truly making her mark with the winter series which she took over from Laura Whitmore.

A winter 2024 series was confirmed following Maya’s success on the show with a source telling The Sun at the time: “Maya has more than proved her worth as the presenter of Love Island and while the ratings for this winter series weren’t the best – she came out on top.”
