Kate Middleton mocked with crude ‘legs’ joke in new Amazon Prime show as fans fume

New Amazon Prime series Citadel has shocked viewers with a sexual jibe about Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales.

Citadel follows the story of the eponymous global spy agency that must fight rival crime syndicate, Manticore, to regain its status.

The series stars Hollywood titan Priyanka Chopra Jones as Nadia Sinh, and Game of Thrones star Richard Madden as Mason Kane.

In the series’ third episode, Madden’s character Mason Kane is seen asking a crime head honcho for aid breaking into the armed forces chief’s office.

But viewers weren’t pleased with the crime boss’ vulgar response, where he jeers: “The chief of armed forces? You might as well have asked me how to get between the legs of the Duchess of Cambridge!”

The racy royal quip did not go unnoticed on social media, with audiences taking to Twitter to voice their revulsion.

One user labelled the line “Gratuitous and vile”, whilst another thundered, “Who wrote the script and who approved it?!”

Each episode is released on Amazon Prime each week, after the series premiered at the end of April.

The action-packed show is the most expensive TV series ever made, costing over £200 million in production costs.

According to Citadel’s Twitter, the show is highly popular, ranking number one for Amazon in nearly 200 countries.

Citadel’s comment is not the only recent prod at Kate Middleton, as the Rob Marshall-directed The Little Mermaid remake appears to make a pointed dig at the Princess royal.

The film allegedly contains veiled allusions to the royal “Megxit” drama, hinting at Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle.

An unnamed reviewer explained: “Ariel has sacrificed her voice in order to get to the surface and [meet] Prince Eric. She can’t speak so he tries to guess her name.

His first guess is Diana. His second guess is Catherine, but after [Ariel gives a disgusted] reaction, he [concludes] ‘OK, definitely not Catherine.’”

The source added: “Disney would be disingenuous to imply those name choices were coincidental.”

Meghan Markle has previously explained that she identifies with Ariel in an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
