Phillip Schofield seemed to reveal subtle signs he was leaving ITV’s This Morning in his final ever appearance on the show – and a body language expert has now revealed them.
The broadcaster announced on Saturday (May 20) that he was leaving the ITV daytime show with “immediate effect” after 21 years on the sofa.
It comes after his reported rift with his close pal and co-star Holly Willoughby, with rumours suggesting their friendship has ‘cooled’ and that the duo weren’t speaking to each-other.

Body language expert Inbaal Honigman looked at Phil’s final ever This Morning broadcast with Holly last Thursday (May 18) and picked out key signs suggesting Phil already knew he was leaving the show.
And interestingly, she reckons the TV star told Daily Star he was “trying not to say something” and keeping a secret from the the cameras.
Analysing Holly and Phil’s interview with podcasting couple Chris and Rosie Ramsey, Honigman spotted that Phil was showing “increasing signs of stress.”
She said: “When Holly chats to Chris and Rosie Ramsey, we can see Phil next to Holly, chewing his lips, which shows tension, and also demonstrates that he is trying not to say something, like he is keeping a secret.”
Suggesting Phil looked ‘sad’ in the studio, she went on: “Both Phil and Holly laugh heartily at a joke, and instead of maintaining eye contact, to show Chris that he appreciates his joke, Phil lowers his eyes to his notes, which tells us that he is sad, whereas Holly looks directly at Chris and maintains the conversation.”
Honigman claimed that Holly was able to maintain her normally upbeat demeanour, but Phil was struggling with his “inner thoughts.”
In his statement, Phil revealed he was stepping down from This Morning after ITV decided the current situation “can’t go on.”
Taking to Instagram, he wrote: “Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind.
“I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.
“So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future.”
