Famous ITV star to ‘replace Paul O’Grady on For the Love of Dogs’ after tragic death

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden is reportedly set to take over Paul O’Grady’s For the Love of Dogs on ITV in the future.

It comes after the legendary comedian tragically died at the age of 67 in March, with his partner Andrew Porasio confirming the sad news in a statement.

Fans have been left wondering what the future of Paul’s beloved ITV dog show was after the comic’s sudden death, reportedly due to a cardiac arrest.

But now it appears that BGT beauty Amanda, who was a close pal of Paul’s, is tipped as the “natural” choice and frontrunner to take over the reigns of the programme.

Amanda is an ambassador for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, where the popular show is based.

However, while tons of people want to see the show go on, bosses allegedly think it’s too soon to continue the series at the moment as it’s only two months after Paul’s passing.

A source told The Sun: “Execs just feel like it’s too soon to make firm plans about the series, as it’s barely been two months since he died.

“But the feeling at the home is that it’s what Paul would have wanted.

“After all, he cared deeply about the animals in Battersea.

“Amanda is the natural choice to take over the job, not just because she’s an experienced presenter but because she also cares about the home and would do anything for them.”

Paul’s final appearance on For the Love of Dogs came in the 11th and latest series of the show, which first aired last month.

The beloved entertainer died two months ago

The broadcaster also underwent major schedule changes after his passing in order to pay tribute to the beloved Lily Savage star.

Paul O’Grady’s For the Love of Dogs: A Royal Special, aired as well as a special tribute show to Paul, titled For the Love of Paul O’Grady, which aired Sunday April 9th.
