Coronation Street star Jodie Prenger has opened up about her special role away from the ITV soap.
The 43-year-old actress is currently playing Rovers Return barmaid Glenda Shuttleworth.
When she’s not busy pulling pints for the Weatherfield regulars, Jodie is supporting Alzheimer’s Society’s Forget Me Not Appeal to show people affected by dementia that they are not alone.

Her mum Madeline Pregner has run a care home in Blackpool for over 30 years and Jodie’s life has been spent surrounded by the wonderful people in the care home, growing incredibly close to them and their families.
The soap star has supported Alzheimer’s Society for over three years and says it’s an “honour” to be part of the campaign.
Speaking to Daily Star, Jodie said: “It’s something I’ve been around for many, many years due to what my family run.
“It’s one of the UK’s biggest killers and its the effect you see on the families that gets you because that person’s there but they’re not there. It’s frustrating on both parts.
“It’s a brilliant appeal to just remind everyone that those people are still there.
“I see it day in, day out. My mum and all the staff deal with it and the families deal with it and I’m very honoured to be part of this.”
During her days off from filming, Jodie heads to The Golden Years home in Blackpool to visit her mum, staff and the residents.
Jodie, who takes part in the charity walks for Alzheimer’s society, giggled: “They are a sensation. I want to be as rude as naughty as them.
“I was there a few weeks back and they have the knowledge and fun, they don’t care anymore and we had them dancing to Elvis.
“We’ve always been people’s people and I just love how much my mum and the staff cares for them.
“From the minute they come in, my mother goes to Marks and Spencers and buys them a new outfit. They’ve grafted all their life and it’s what they deserve.

Alzheimer’s Society’s Forget Me Not Appeal campaign is running throughout May and the general public are being encouraged to get involved by wearing the Forget Me Not badge, showing people affected by dementia that we understand and stand with them.
The Forget Me-Not is a small blue flower that represents remembrance.
People with dementia may experience memory loss, among other symptoms. This makes the Forget-Me-Not the perfect flower to represent dementia.
