Good Morning Britain hosts set up Love Island beauty and Gogglebox star live on air

Good Morning Britain presenters Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins played cupid in the ITV studio today.

The hosts tied to set up their TV guests Love Island star Zara Deniz and Gogglebox’s Tom Malone.

The four discussed whether men and women could be “just friends” on Thursday’s episode (June 1).

Zara argued that they couldn’t be, as her lad friends “always try it on with her” and Tom stated that they definitely can be as he works with mostly women for his dancing career.

Though when the chat finished, host Ben asked: “Are either of you in a relationship at the moment?”

To which Zara replied: “I’m currently single.”

“Single,” Tom added.

Charlotte then gushed: “Ohhhh… Could you two be ‘friends’?”

The studio erupted in laughter before Ben added: “I feel like Love Island just took a big turn in the studio. Little did we know, this could be a potential couple.”

The official GMB Twitter account shared a clip of the chat online and captioned the post: “‘All of my close male friendships in the past have tried it on with me’

“You’re not attracted to every woman you meet in the world and not every woman is attracted to every man she meets in the world’ Can men and women ever just be friends?@itszaradeniz @TomMaloneJr”

However, ITV viewers took to social media to share their thoughts on the discussion, with many disagreeing with Zara as they argued that men and women can be friends.

One fan wrote: “So Zara doesn’t believe men and women can be friends because she thinks every man is attracted to her. Smh. I wouldn’t be interested that way madam so welcome to my friend zone. #GMB”

A second added: “GMB is annoying me by saying that Male and Female friendships can’t exist. That Zara saying that it’s just human nature and the way we’re wired is everything that’s wrong with the world today!”

While a third penned: “Zara is talking absolute nonsense. I’ve got lots of male friends and I’m not attracted to them.”

“Zará I think you’re wrong, but then my female friends aren’t as hot as you, okay just proved your point #gmb,” a fourth posted.

GMB continues weekdays from 6am on ITV.
