Holly Willoughby ‘in talks to join BBC’ as they ‘plot new shows’ after ITV scandal

The BBC are reportedly “in talks” to recruit Holly Willoughby after ITV ‘s recent scandals.

Holly is known for hosting This Morning and Dancing on Ice, and has long-since been regarded as a staple of the channel.

Yet after the recent crisis with her former co-host, Phillip Schofield, the daytime TV host is reportedly being poached by the BBC.

Top BBC executives are said to be in direct communication with Holly, planning new shows around her hosting talents.

42-year-old Holly has already worked alongside the BBC having presented TV series Freeze the Fear, alongside Lee Mack.

An insider has claimed that Holly may be jumping ship just as an external investigation into safeguarding at ITV may be afoot.

The source told The Mirror: “Holly has had a good relationship and an open dialogue with BBC bosses since she hosted Freeze the Fear.

“Ever since then they have been keen to sign her up for another project and have bent over backwards to offer her other opportunities.

“So the ongoing drama at ITV has played into their hands.”

The publication also reports that TV bosses have had “conversations this week” about “what they could offer her going forward”.

Daily Star has contacted Holly’s represatives for a comment.

Holly is expecting to return to her hosting seat at This Morning on Monday (June 5) alongside TV personality Josie Gibson.

The annoncement was announced by presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary at the end of Friday’s (June 2) episode.

A statement from the broadcaster also said: “Holly Willoughby returns to This Morning on Monday June 5th and will co-present with members of the This Morning family, as confirmed in our May 20 statement.

“Josie Gibson will be hosting with Holly on Monday, as mentioned at the end of today’s show.”
