“I have a platform and if you are in a position to do something, well wouldn’t you?”

Asked if she would like to replace Rishi Sunak as PM, the mum-of-three said: “I like to get things done.

Mylenne is considering a career in politics

“I’d like to be anything that could actually make changes happen, so who knows? This isn’t something I envisaged. I am a musician, a broadcaster and a mum.

“But because I can see what is going on with the arts and health care, I am now in a more political vein. I wouldn’t just say it as a soundbite if I wasn’t serious about it.”

Myleene found fame in 2001 on talent show Popstars. She had a brief career as a singer with Kym Marsh in the winning group Hear’Say, but the group split the following year.

Since then she has built a successful career in classical music, TV and as a model. But she now wants to push for women in power and equal rights.

The former Dancing On Ice star said: “When I was in the jungle I had to be strong. I was up against people half my age.

“Two of the celebrities told me they wanted to enter because they saw me in there when they were
seven. I couldn’t believe it.

“I think I’ve proved myself many times. Although I may be small, I am fierce and I think that is testament to the type of character I am. It doesn’t matter what sex you are, what age you are, it is all about mindset. That is the strongest thing there is.”

Myleene added: “I am a big advocate for supporting women. I feel a huge responsibility to celebrate other women’s achievements.

“I think that every woman suffers some sort of discrimination. That’s why we still need allies.

“We are so strong. We are infinitely strong. We just don’t always shout loudest.”
