Lee Mack fumes ‘you greedy sod’ as The 1% Club player makes money confession on ITV show

Lee Mack was left fuming on The 1% Club after a player confessed to having already bagged millions from the lottery.

The hit ITV gameshow was back on TV screens on Saturday night (June 3) for another batch of tricky questions.

Fronted by Lee Mack, the prime-time programme sees 100 contestants from different age groups and backgrounds battle it out for a chance to win a top prize of up to £100,000.

Unlike most quizzes, the players don’t need to know tons about general knowledge, because it’s more about showing your skills in common sense and logic.

It’s not as easy at it may sound, though, because winning the top prize of £100k involves tackling a question that only 1% of the country would get right.

But Saturday night’s show was thrown into a spot of chaos when player Kevin Jones, confessed to having won millions on the lottery.

A player made a major money confession

Despite not managing to get the 90% question right and thus leaving the competition, Lee spoke to Kevin.

“You’ve been unlucky tonight, are you usually unlucky?” Lee asked.

“I’ve been very lucky in the past,” Kevin replied, to which Lee quizzed him further and said: In what respect?”

“I’ve won the lottery,” the player said before revealing he had won a whopping £6 million.

Lee was left fuming at the player

“£6.1 million to be precise,” he quipped, as the studio audience, and his fellow players, all cheered.

But it seems Lee wasn’t having it as he fumed at Kevin: “£6 million quid?! And you want another £100 grand? You greedy sod!”

The player replied: “I wanted to come on here for the challenge but sadly not done very well.”

Last year, speaking exclusively about his new quiz show, Lee told the hilarious tale about how one contestant fell victim to toilet-related troubles.

When asked if there were any standout moments from filming the series, Lee answered: “One of the funniest moments we had during filming was a chap who was desperate for us to get going as he was dying for the loo and kept asking us to do it quicker!”

He also admitted the quiz show is a lot more tense than he anticipated – and it’s “heart breaking” if contestants don’t win the big cash prize at the end
