At the hospital, the rescued boy is terrified and refuses to answer questions while flinching at medical treatment.
Only responding to Justin, he learns the boy’s name is Andrew and he is 17.
But the boy’s strangeness is unsettling when he doesn’t know his birthday, and claims he’s not allowed outside.
The police are called when the hospital can’t identify him, causing Andrew to panic.
As the mystery of Andrew’s identity deepens, Justin’s investment in the boy grows.
Worried that Andrew will be released back to a neglectful environment, Justin begs Andrew for answers.
After a psychology assessment, Andrew is deemed to have the social and emotional skills of a 9-year old.
When Bree can’t keep Andrew at the hospital any longer, Justin makes an impulsive decision and takes Andrew home with him.
Leah is confronted by Andrew’s fearful demeanour yet goes above and beyond to make him feel welcome.
But while Justin and Leah are soundly sleeping, Andrew creeps into their room and watches them.
Justin gets some disturbing information from Cash about Andrew’s house: it’s stocked up to live off grid for months, with evidence of another man living there.
But no identifying documentation could be found.
The next day, Leah confesses to Roo that she is irked by having Andrew in her home.
When Justin concedes that Andrew needs professional help, Leah is relieved.
But when the adoptive parents witness a sensitive side to Andrew when he’s drawn to Justin’s guitar playing, they question whether they can send him away.
