Jennifer told British Vogue that she hates compliments such as “you look good for your age”, saying: “It drives me bananas. I can’t stand it.

“That’s a habit of society that we have these markers like, ‘Well you’re at that stage, so for your age…’ I don’t even understand what it means.

“I’m in better shape than I was in my 20s. I feel better in my mind, body, and spirit. It’s all 100% better.”

She told the site: “I believed it for so long. I just burnt out and broke my body.”

However, her collaboration with fitness brand Pvolve had changed her view.

She said: “Our minds used to think, we have to hurt; no pain, no gain. It has to be an hour of a workout. You have to work out three times a day. With this, you can start gentle.”

She has been able to maintain her size 2 shape even as she has settled into her 50s, starting off her day with lemon water and later meditating.
