This Morning fans ‘switch off’ as they beg Holly Willoughby to be replaced by ITV co-star

This Morning viewers were disappointed to see Holly Willoughby holding down the fort with Dermot O’Leary as viewers demand the hunk to take over the ITV show for good.

On Monday (June 19), fans threatened to “switch off” after the mum-of-three kicked off the week’s programme with the former X Factor host.

The presenting duo welcomed hosts Gyles Brandreth and Matthew Wright onto the show as they group discussed the latest headlines in the news.

As Holly and Dermot introduced the show, the blonde beauty chuckled: “He’s already dancing” It’s a Monday and you are full of beans.

“Did you have a lovely Father’s Day yesterday, by the way?” she asked as the TV presenter gushed over his family-filled day.

He said: “Aww man, it was the best. My son is just obsessed with trains so I spent most of my weekend on tubes.”

But just minutes into the show, viewers flooded to Twitter to share their frustrations at the TV presenter hosting the show.

One user penned: “#ThisMorning well been away for two weeks on holiday just switched on to see @AlisonHammond on #thismorning with @radioleary and who do I get @hollywills!! What the no thanks if it’s not Alison and Dermot I’m not watching tarrah.”

Another agreed: “Just turned #ThisMorning on – pleased to see Dermot on, but Holly? Nah …” as a third echoed: “I think it’s time for Holly to go #ThisMorning.”

Meanwhile others called for Dermot to take over as a permanent host as they praised his presenting gig on the ITV show.

One user gushed: “Can I just say, love Dermot on This Morning” as another agreed: “#thismorning need to make @radioleary a permanent host, his conversation with Giles & Matthew was brilliant. Holly was silenced which is always a good thing.”

Viewers comments come after ITV teased Phillip Schofield’s permanent replacement which will be announced in the near future.

A spokesperson for ITV said it would make further announcements on future presenters of the show “in due course.”

“In the meantime, we will draw on the This Morning family for presenters to co-present with Holly.” they added in a statement to The Journal.
