Love Islander reveals stars forced to talk about Harry and Meghan by ITV producers

Love Island’s Anna-May Robey says Islanders were forced to talk about the royals.

Talking exclusively to the Daily Star, Anna-May said that to stop the girls and boys from gossiping separately during lunchtime, they would give them topics to chat about.

She told us: “When we would have lunch and stuff like that, it was just a saying producers would say to us because naturally you would say ‘So and so said this earlier’ and you can’t talk about anything because it wouldn’t be on TV.

“And as the girls were separate from the boys, and we’d be like, ‘What can we talk about then? And they’d be like ‘Talk about Prince Harry and Meghan’.

“Because you can’t really put that on TV because no one is interested in what I think about Harry and Meghan.

“They obviously don’t want to miss anything they can put on TV, sometimes we would get told off for whispering.

“It’s a hard job for them to stop us from talking and sometimes you’d be in the middle of a chat and after lunch, you’d try to go back to the conversation and you’d be lost where you were. And it’s hard because I can’t remember what I had for breakfast so.”

Anna-May also revealed how torturous the challenges were on the show as she shared what she found the most surprising element of her experience.

She said: “Oh my god, how long the challenges were, it was torture. Yeah, you see, like five minutes and it’s done. But obviously, I was in South Africa and it was really hot, and between every person’s turn, we’d have a drink, and go and stand in the shade for five minutes.

“You’ve got to stand there and not move they can get like shots of you. And so that takes a couple of hours. I think it would probably take at least half an hour to go through each person and you’re there such a long time.

“It is a lot of fun but sometimes like I just wanted to go back now and just chill.”
