Holly Willoughby ‘hits back’ at Eamonn Holmes with sly dig after brutal crew claim

This Morning star Holly Willoughby has appeared to take a subtle swipe at former host Eamonn Holmes after he accused her and former presenter Phillip Schofield of looking down on their colleagues.

Eamonn has been leading the criticism of the show ever since shamed Phillip quit last month when it emerged he’d had an affair with a much younger employee on the show, and then lied about it.

In a scathing interview on GB News, where Eamonn now works, the former This Morning presenter accused both Phillip and Holly of looking down on the show’s crew – and that their behaviour was “legendary”.

“People would avoid [Phillip] in the corridor,” Eamonn said.

“He didn’t look at anybody, he didn’t know anybody’s names. Holly doesn’t know people’s names, either.

“This is legendary within the production team, that how distant they are and how they just don’t care.”

During yesterday’s broadcast of This Morning, though, Holly appeared to go out of her way to name-check one of the cameramen on set.

When TV chef Gino D’Acampo sent a champagne cork flying in the direction of one of the cameras, Holly immediately said: “Oh my God, you almost got Steve in the eye! He needs his eyes, he’s on Camera 4!”

Fellow presenter Dermot O’Leary – who is again filling the co-presenter’s slot this week while ITV bosses decide on a permanent replacement for Phillip – chipped in: “You almost hit Steve! We value Steve!

“Steve is like the poster-boy for cameramen. No one injure Steve, for God’s sake!”

Eamonn, who’s married to fellow former This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford, hasn’t held back over his voicing his disdain for the programme since the scandal erupted.

He has slammed the “toxic” atmosphere on the show and branded Holly a “big mouth”, as well as laying into Phillip for his lies, which Eamonn said were common knowledge among the top brass at ITV.
