EastEnders legend Adam Woodyatt has confessed that working alongside returning star Michelle Collins was like wearing an “old pair of slippers”.
After 25 years away from the long-running soap, actress Michelle, who plays the role of Cindy Beale made an explosive return to the show tonight (June 21), leaving fans stunned.
Viewers also finally got the chance to discover the identity of Rose Knight, who is in fact the legendary Cindy Beale.

But as well as Michelle, Adam who plays Cindy’s ex-husband Ian Beale will also be making a return to the programme after being away for approximately three years.
Discussing what it was like working with Michelle again at an exclusive press screening, he said: “Well working with Michelle, I mean no offence has been like putting on an old pair of slippers.
“It’s comfortable, it just works.”
After many laughs from the audience, Michelle added: “I’ll take that Adam!”
Discussing his return, the actor continued: “The weirdest thing for me because since I’ve been gone, they’ve rebuilt the lot.
“And I got out the car yesterday morning and I sort of just got out on the right-hand side and I’ve looked and I’ve gone ‘where’s the square?’
“And it’s literally disappeared. So that was the weirdest thing for me. The nicest thing is going back and seeing all the faces.”
On Wednesday night, after much anticipation, hard-core EastEnders fans finally got to understand the relationship between newcomer George Knight and his wife Rose.
Former James Bond actor Colin Salmon who plays George, previously gave TV lovers an insight into George’s past and said being “misunderstood” is a “nightmare” for him.
The star said: “Conflict is drama, and drama is our business. It’s complex! Life is complex, and there are so many things that can send people off on the wrong trajectory. I love the idea of exploring that in drama because the catalyst doesn’t have to be some huge thing.
“It can just be a misunderstanding. It’s more real like that. Being misunderstood is a nightmare for a straight shooter like George,” he added.
