Phillip Schofield has been spotted for the first time in public since the shocking news broke about his affair with a young male runner at ITV.
The former This Morning presenter, 61, was sensationally axed from ITV last month after he confessed to having the “unwise but not illegal” affair and has kept an extremely low profile since the scandal broke.
But on Wednesday (June 21), the father-of-two broke cover to visit his mother in Cornwall for her birthday.

Wearing a blue t-shirt and white linen shorts, Phillip was snapped in a car park looking down-trodden and grim-faced as he clutched his phone and vape.
In photos obtained by MailOnline, Phil headed to the south coast to join his beloved mum Pat in celebrating her 87th birthday.
Despite looking forlorn, the broadcaster did appear to have a slight tan and a fresh haircut – a far cry from his appearance when the scandal broke last month.
After confessing to the fling, Phillip sat down for an interview with the BBC and made a series of bombshell revelations.
The ex-Dancing on Ice presenter told BBC’s Amol Rajan that he considered taking his own life and it was his two daughters, Ruby and Molly, who saved him.
“My girls saved my life,” he explained. “They haven’t left me for a moment because they’re scared to let me out of their sight.
“They said to me, ‘Don’t you dare do this on our watch. We’re supposed to be looking after you’. If my girls hadn’t been there, I wouldn’t be here because I don’t see a future.”
He likened his situation to that of Caroline Flack, who tragically took her own life in 2020.
The star said: “How much do you want a man to take and are you truly only happy when he’s dead? This is how Caroline Flack felt and it didn’t stop.”
In an interview with The Sun, published on Friday, June 2, Phillip admitted he was too scared to leave the house following fears he would be spat on.
“I don’t have any spirit. My friends tell me, ‘It will get better’. It won’t. Not now. Not this one,” he told the publication.
He continued: “You watch all these layers of you slide away and slide away and slide away. The things that were dear to you. But I deserve it. It’s my fault. I deserve it.”
He added: “Are they spitting on me because I had an affair at work and lied about it?”
