Elton John fans moan about his special Glastonbury guests as they ask ‘Where’s Britney’

Elton John fans were left disappointed with his special guests during his Glastonbury set.

The Candle In the Wind singer headlined the Pyramid Stage on the closing night of the festival on Sunday (June 25) and it had previously been teased that he would be joined by four special guests.

Fans had their bets on Britney Spears being one of them, after she teamed up with the music legend for Hold Me Closer last year.

Harry Styles and Eminem were also among the names that cropped up.

However, as the set got under way, Elton brought out Jacob Lusk as guest number one.

He was followed by Stephen Sanchez as the second guest, and viewers watching at home admitted they were baffled.

“No idea who this is,” one tweeted.

“We wanted guests we actually know Elton!” said someone else.

“Where tf is Britney,” asked another perplexed viewer.

“Well this isn’t Britney,” said another.

Things got worse when Brandon Flowers was confirmed as the third guest and performed the Britney hit with Elton.

Rina Sawayama was the fourth singer that Elton brought out.

“The level of disappointment I feel of it not being Britney but Brandon Flowers,” said one gutted fan.

“WE WANT BRITNEY,” posted another fan, going full on Caps Lock to make it clear how they were feeling.

“Britney is sure looking different, didn’t recognise them at all?!” sniped one fan, although they added that the show was “still mighty enjoyable”.

Someone else posted: “Rumoured special guests – Britney, Paul McCartney, Harry Styles, Dua Lipa.

“What we got – ‘Who?'”

However, others pointed out how generous it was of Elton to highlight some rising stars.

“Elton John always been kind to emerging artists,” said one.

“Good on him.”

Earlier in the set, the singer told the crowd that he would “never forget” the show, which is possibly his last in the UK, and that it was an “emotional” performance for him.
