Elton John confirms career future in emotional post to fans after Glastonbury set

Elton John has confirmed that he won’t be playing in the UK again in an emotional post after headlining Glastonbury.

The 76-year-old music icon took to the Pyramid Stage on Sunday night (June 25) and blew away a massive crowd and the rest of the nation with his epic headline set.

The Rocket Man hitmaker graced the stage at Worthy Farm as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road World Tour and hinted that Brits might see him one more time.

In January in 2018 he would be retiring from touring, but just hours after his jaw-dropping Glastonbury set, he released new music, which some fans took as an indication he was going to return with more UK shows.

But Elton took to social media with heartbreaking news, confirming that his Glastonbury headline set was indeed his final UK performance.

Elton added: “UK, what a farewell. I love you,” before adding a waving emoji and a union flag emoji.

And huge stars across the showbiz industry as well as his devoted fans flooded the comments section as they reacted to his incredible set.
