Phillip Schofield has reportedly rushed to the bedside of his mother after the 87-year-old fell seriously ill.
The former This Morning host, 61, sought support from his mum, Pat last month when he fled to Cornwall, in the wake of his ITV exit and affair confession.
Phillip, who fronted the ITV show for more than two decades, branded the fling with the younger employee as “unwise but not illegal”.

The mother and son were photographed together in May as they consoled one another in the seaside town of Newquay.
What’s more, Pat was also dealt another blow when her other son, Timothy, was sentenced to 12 years in prison earlier this year.
Phillip’s brother was convicted of 11 sexual offences involving a child, including two of sexual activity with a child.

He must also sign the sex offender register for the rest of his life, and is banned from working with children and vulnerable adults.
However, it has now been claimed that Phillip’s mum has fallen ill and has been treated for an unknown condition at a hospital in Cornwall for several days.
A TV insider said: “Given the stress Phillip has been through in recent weeks, this couldn’t have come at a worse time for the family.

“Given that his mother was the woman Phillip turned to in his hour of need, her illness is a particularly cruel twist of fate.”
The source added to The Sun: “He adores his mother and the whole family is trying to remain hopeful and keep faith that Pat will make a full recovery.”
It comes after Phillip cover last week to visit his mother in Cornwall for her birthday.

Wearing a blue t-shirt and white linen shorts, Phillip was snapped in a car park looking down-trodden and grim-faced as he clutched his phone and vape.
In photos obtained by MailOnline, Phil headed to the south coast to join his beloved mum Pat in celebrating her 87th birthday.
Despite looking forlorn, the broadcaster did appear to have a slight tan and a fresh haircut – a far cry from his appearance when the scandal broke last month.
