Gordon Ramsay’s BBC cooking show axed weeks after ITV programme got dropped

Gordon Ramsay ’s TV career is in crisis after he lost another show.

His BBC series Future Food Stars has been axed, the fourth in recent years, according to industry sources.

The format was a ratings flop with its most recent final proving less popular than a repeat of ITV show It’ll Be Alright on the Night.

Just weeks ago his big-budget cookery contest Next Level Chef was dropped by ITV.

The network has also scrapped plans to make any more episodes of his travel programme Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip, which featured Gino D’Acampo, 46, and Fred Sirieix, 51.

And in 2021, the Beeb pulled the plug on his game show Bank Balance

A TV insider said: “It’s not looking good for Gordon. He used to be one of the biggest stars on TV, but it seems he’s lost his golden touch.”

Gordon, 56, above with Next Level Chef co-stars Nyesha Arrington, 41, and Paul Ainsworth, 44, is still a hit with viewers in America and sources close to the star say he is still likely to front more formats in the UK in the future.

An insider said: “The BBC still has the option to commission another series of Future Food Stars.

“Gordon is still a household name, so could be given a new format.”

It comes after Gordon was slammed by a guest after they attended one of his restaurants.

The anonymous reviewer dined at Bread Street Kitchen and Bar, in Liverpool, with a friend as they wanted to sample the £95 a head Beef Wellington Experience.

But they were left disappointed after splurging over £200 on food, and didn’t even get any booze included in the price.

They wrote a complaint online, which read: “Waited years to try a real Beef Wellington from Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant, and tonight was the night.

“Terrible experience, food was seriously overpriced and wasn’t of a very good standard paid for the Beef Wellington experience.

“Bill ended up coming to £239 for two people – we got a starter to share which included one piece of tuna, four chicken wings, and a slither of beef.”

They added: “The main meal to share included four slices of Beef Wellington and a portion of mashed potato.

“Dessert to share included one small chocolate fondant, one small cheesecake without a biscuit base, and three scoops of ice cream.

“With the meal, we ordered three bottles of water. Total price of £239.

“Absolutely disgusting food was not done to any great standard.

“If it was offered to me again for £40 I still wouldn’t return as it wasn’t nice.

“Avoid this place unless you like overpriced trash or burning cash. Heartbroken.”
