EastEnders Kheerat star Jaz Singh Deol announces new career after quitting soap

EastEnders star Jaz Singh Deol has shared his new business venture with fans eight months after quitting the BBC soap.

The actor, 34, is best known for playing Kheerat Panesar but left fans devastated last November when his character abruptly left Albert Square in shocking scenes.

To prevent his mother, Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) from going to prison, Kheerat lied and claimed responsibility for the murder of Ranveer Gulati (Anil Goutam), for which he later received a life sentence behind bars.

While fans have been begging for his return since he left, Jaz has made a major career change and is now an acting coach.

The star has set up his own company named The Actors Path which aims to help actors break into the industry through mentoring.

Sharing the news on Instagram on Saturday (July 8), the former soap star wrote: “I’m very excited to share with you all @theactorspath.

“Which is focused on sharing my ever evolving insights, knowledge and experience of walking this particular journey. Especially as a person of colour in this industry.”

He continued: “I’ve had and still have coaches who, without a shadow of doubt, helped me thrive and define my career as it is today.

“And I believe now the time has come for me to do the same for others. Sometimes you need an outside eye to help you see the road ahead.”

Jaz, who starred as Kheerat from 2019 until 2022, signed off the post by saying: “If you’re an actor and interested in working 1:1 on an audition, a part or career guidance, then you can BOOK directly from the page.”

Another fan shared: “Not going to lie, this might get me back into loving acting,” as a third agreed: “Love this, thanks. Looking forward to learning more.”

While Shiv Jolta, who stars as Jaz’s on-screen brother Vinny Panesar, through his support behind his former co-star as he shared a link to the business page, saying: “Check @jazsinghdeol Actor’s Path.”
