GMB’s Susanna Reid fumes ‘don’t call me darling’ at guest in ‘car crash’ interview

Susanna Reid hit back at a Good Morning Britain guest after she was called “darling” during a tense interview.

Tracey Mallaghan, a spokesperson for Insulate Britain, appeared on the ITV breakfast show on Monday (July 10) to debate if it’s wrong to protest at a wedding.

It comes after a Just Stop Oil activist crashed George Osborne’s wedding in Somerset over the weekend.

Osborne looked confused as the grey-haired woman clutching a Union Jack bag approached the couple.

She then doused the newlyweds, who have two children together, in orange confetti and was left grinning before eventually being ushered away.

Tracey defended the protestors live on air and found herself embroiled in a tense debate with hosts Susanna and Ed Balls.

She called Susanna “darling” during the interview, leaving the ITV star hitting back “you don’t need to call me darling”.

Viewers rushing to their keyboards to discuss the “chaotic” interview and said that everyone involved should be “ashamed:.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Car crash on GMB right now.’

Another added: “This GMB woman is car crash TV.”

A third person posted: How dare she call @susannareid100 darling uurrrgghhh @GMB she doesn’t even know her argument! Cannot substantiate her claims so resorts to patronising passive aggression #GeorgeOsborne #gmb.”

While a fourth social media user said: “Having people like this on just turns people off – it just sets the cause back. #GMB”

“The worst, most chaotic car-crash interview just happened on #GMB and everyone involved should be ashamed. There was inaccuracies, incoherence, bullying, bias and it was a shambles.” someone else said.

It comes after Tracey was caught raging at GMB host Richard Madeley off-air in October 2021.

At the end of the debate, Richard heaved a big sigh he said: “Tracey, thank you very much for coming in but not answering a single question.”

Turning to viewers, he said: “You’re watching Good Morning Britain on ITV.

As the GMB theme tune was played when ITV prepared to go to an ad break, the mics were muted and Richard was seen shaking his head and saying something to Tracey.

Tracey was clearly not happy with whatever was said and responded by leaning forward and jabbing a finger at Richard.

The moment wasn’t missed by viewers, with one sharing a clip of the moment and tweeting: “Can we press red to watch her leave the #GMB studio?”
