Alex Jones delivers blow to The One Show fans as BBC show pulled off-air in shake-up

Alex Jones had some bad news for The One Show’s viewers as the programme has been pulled from the schedule on Friday (July 14).

The hit BBC show first made its debut on TV screens back in 2007 – and since then it’s amassed a loyal legion of viewers and fans.

But on Thursday evening (July 13) Welsh presenter Alex, 46, announced a major schedule shake-up – while co-hosting alongside Roman Kemp.

At the end of the episode, while she said her goodbyes to viewers, Alex told them that the BBC had scrapped Friday’s show (July 14).

And instead, she told them how they will next be seeing the famous sofa and The One Show studio on Monday (July 17).

The long-running show won’t be airing to make room for Wimbledon 2023 from 7pm to 9pm.

While sister channel BBC Two is showing BBC Proms 2023 at the same time.

As credits were about to roll, Alex announced: “We won’t be here tomorrow, but we’ll be back on Monday,” adding: “Have a fabulous weekend.”

The show will not be airing on Friday (July 14)

It’s not the only BBC show getting pulled off-air as soap EastEnders has also been dropped from its schedule.

Elsewhere on Thursday’s episode, Aussie superstar Margot Robbie set pulses racing when she appeared on the show – where she revealed an epic prank she pulled on the set of Barbie.

The Australian stunner sat down on the green sofa alongside her co-star America Ferrara to spill backstage secrets from the brand new Barbie film, which hits cinemas from July 21.

She told hosts Roman Kemp and Alex Jones that the crew all decided to wear pink on Wednesdays to get into the Barbie spirit and they would be “fined” if they failed the challenge.

“We wear pink on Wednesdays,” she revealed.

“That was the game. And there was an optional fine that would be donated to charity.”

She added further: “I’d say the grips were the most resistant.”

Margot then said: “I decorated the truck for them since they weren’t getting in the pink spirit. I snook off and covered the whole thing in pink streamers and glitter and everything. They got on board after that.”
