Kerry Katona says it would be ‘unfair’ if Holly Willoughby replaced BBC Strictly hosts

Kerry Katona has weighed in on rumours that This Morning star Holly Willoughby could be joining Strictly as a presenter, insisting it wouldn’t be “fair”.

Holly – who is one of ITV’s biggest stars – did a stint on the BBC last year when she presented reality show Freeze The Fear.

And speculation has been swirling that she could be in the mix for a hosting gig on its ballroom show.

However, Kerry said that in her opinion it wouldn’t be right to ditch the current hosts.

Sharing her thoughts on the gossip in OK!, she said: “I don’t think that’s fair on current presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

“They’re great at it. They can’t be swapped out!”

Kerry doesn’t think Holly should host Strictly

The former Atomic Kitten star said while she didn’t think Holly should get a hosting gig on Strictly she “would be great as a contestant instead”.

And it seems she wouldn’t mind taking a spin around the dancefloor herself.

“I’d be up for doing Strictly, too,” she told the mag.

The Strictly rumours come after a tough couple of months for Holly, which saw her ITV daytime show rocked when her co-host Phillip Schofield stepped down.

He left This Morning in May amid reports of tension behind the scenes and admitted to having what he called an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a much younger ITV staff member.

Holly, 42, took a break before returning to the This Morning sofa without Phil, who she had been very close to.

Since then she has hosted the programme with a variety of different presenters, including This Morning favourites Dermot O’Leary and Craig Doyle.

Strictly is set to return later this year with a new crop of celebs glittering up for the competition.

Rumoured contestants so far include Bobby Brazier, the son of late star Jade Goody, and actor Nigel Harman.

I’m A Celebrity winner Jill Scott is also rumoured to be a possibility.
