A Place in the Sun fans fuming as guests pull out of property at last minute

A Place in the Sun guests were called “time wasters” by fans when they gave up buying a property at the end of the show.

House hunters Kerry and Stewart had a maximum buget of £140,000 for a one-bed home in the east coast of Lanzarote.

They planned to spend the winter months in the Canary Islands and asked host Leah Charles-King for help.

With their heart set on their favourite town of Costa Teguise, Kerry and Stewart loved the one-bed apartment that offered a communal pool, which Stewart had in his wish list.

But they were also tempted by the two bedroom apartment in another area, Puerto del Carmen.

“I left you with a bit of conundrum so how was your night and what was your decision?” Leah asked the couple.

Stewart said: “Unfortunately, no decision.

“If you hadn’t shown us the two-bedroom, we would probably be considering putting an offer in for the one in Costa Teguise.”

Leah was shocked and replied: “Really? No way.”

Stewart continued and explained that the two-bedroom apartment gave them an idea of what they could get further out of their favourite town.

“We just can’t decide what to do,” he added.

“We need to go back and spend some time there and try and fall in love with that location. If that doesn’t happen, Costa Teguise is there waiting for us.”

Wife Kerry said they thought it would be a “huge step up” to get a two-bed flat.

“By the time we come back, we may have a few more funds, we may have decided that it’s worth that little bit extra,” she told Leah.

However, Leah reminded them that the two-bed property was “pretty much what we could you within your budget”.

Viewers felt bad for Leah, with one saying: “Oh no, after all that faff, they didn’t get it!”

Another shared: “It’s Leah’s fault they’re not buying for showing too many good ones. Get in the bin you two.”

A third added: “It’s so annoying watching people with a small budget expecting so much more than they can afford.”
