BBC Breakfast sports presenter Hugh Ferris was warned “you’re not getting paid for both” by his co-star as he jokingly took over the weather segment during the latest episode of the morning show.
The broadcaster appeared on Sunday’s (July 23) episode to wake up the nation with the latest sports headlines.
He appeared in the studio with hosts Ben Boulou and Luxmy Gopal.

However, he began discussing the weather during his slot and made a joke about taking over weather presenter Louise Lear.
A giggling Hugh joked: “i’ll let Louise do her job a little bit better then I am.”
Host Luxmy joked: “Look at that, two jobs Hugh. You’re not going to get paid for both of them though, sorry.
“If you want to ask Louise about the sport go ahead,” Hugh replied.
Co-host Ben added: “As Hugh said, Louise has got a more detailed look at the weather.”
Handing over to the metrologist, Ben continued: “I hope Hugh has left you something to tell us Louise.
“I was quite happy for Hugh to carry on actually,” Louise joked before carrying on with her weather bulletin.
It comes after host Charlie Stayt was missing from Saturday’s (July 22) show.
The presenter, 61, regularly hosts the show alongside regular co-host Naga Munchetty from Thursday to Saturday, but he was nowhere to be seen.

Meanwhile Naga, 48, was back in the studio after she took a trip to the hospital to donate blood on Friday (July 21)..
Sharing a video on Instagram, Naga said to the camera: “I’ve just done the Breakfast shift and just nipped in to give some blood, it will over in about 15 to 20 minutes.
“I’m feeling good but the thing that makes me feel most good is that hopefully it will save someone’s life.”
