Love Island’s Millie Court has opened up about her 10-year battle with a health condition.
On Monday (July 24), Millie took to her Instagram Stories to show off an update on her skin.
She posed with her face looking red and raw as she explained why she was so inflamed.
Millie wrote online: “Skin update. For those that don’t know I suffered with severe acne a few years back and it left me with deep scars, textured skin and an uneven surface.
“I still struggle with breakouts regularly which create new scars, so I’ve been on a journey with microneedling. I haven’t had it done for a couple of months because life has got in the way and I’ve been out of the country but today was my first session back which I plan to keep up.
“This is my skin immediately after microneedling. This is totally normal and the redness will be significantly reduced by the morning.” After tagging her clinic she added: “It’s a tough long old road when it comes to my skin but perserverence is key!”
She added: “Although it looks like spots I have probably only one or two there and the rest are deep purple scars from the acne. This was taken on 14 February 2021 – five months before entering the Love Island villa.”
“Microneedling takes about four weeks to take its full effect and I have seen such a massive improvement since my first ever session.”
“Honestly I swear by it. Depending on how severe your scars are, it could take a few months before you see a noticeable difference. However, my scars have improved so much over the years so I notice a difference a lot sooner now. But let me remind you how bad they really were…”
Millie also uploaded snaps of her before her treatment, which showed Millie with purple scarring, which is worlds away from her current skin condition.

A fan asked her “Did you ever go out like that without makeup? Because my skin is like that and I don’t have the confidence to go out.”
To which she responded: “Of course I did! Please don’t ever feel shy/embarrassed/insecure about it as I promise you the only person who cares about it is you. Millions of people suffer with it, I can’t tell you how many DMs I get about it.”
