S Club reveal moment Paul Cattermole sent them ‘a sign’ after his death this year

S Club have emotionally opened up about a moment they believe Paul Cattermole’s spirit visited them on the set of their new music video.

The singer was found dead aged just 46 at his home in Wareham, Dorset on April 6 – just weeks after the band announced plans for a tour to celebrate 25 years as a band.

Following Paul’s death, his ex girlfriend and bandmate Hannah quit the iconic pop group and ultimately out of the reunion.

Despite Hannah’s exit, remaining members- made up of Rachel Stevens, 45, Jo O’Meara, 44, Bradley McIntosh, 41, Jon Lee, 41 and Tina Barrett, 46 – have decided to continue with the tour and announced their first single on 20 years last week.

And now, in their first interview since Paul’s death, the group have claimed they believe Paul paid them a visit from beyond the grave.

While shooting the video for the new track called These Are The Days, which is released on Wednesday (July 26) Tina explained to The Sun : “We were all sat down and a butterfly came from nowhere.

“It was a really bright, beautiful butterfly which flew down and went off.

“I don’t know why, but I just thought, ‘That’s Paul’. It came from nowhere.”

Rachel then added: “There’s little signs of Paul everywhere. On the video shoot, there was a vinyl coaster and it said ‘Good Times’ on it. That was his song.”

The band also revealed what they experienced on that fateful day when they heard the news that Paul passed away.

Adding to The Sun, Tina Barrett said: “I was at home with my son, we were just watching TV and I picked up the call.

“At first I was just like, ‘This isn’t real . . . it can’t be real. You’ve made a mistake’. I still can’t believe it’s real.”

Jo O’Meara added: “It was horrendous. It was just a complete shock.”

In May, a spokesperson confirmed that he Paul from natural causes.

His death certificate, seen by express.co.uk, says Paul died from a “cardiac arrhythmia, acute myocardial ischaemia and severe coronary artery atheroma and intraplaque haemorrhage”.
