Sinead O’Connor’s final social media post was about the tragic death of her 17-year-old son.
It follows the devastating news on Wednesday (July 26) that the legendary Irish singer had passed away aged just 56.
The family of the songstress revealed they were “devastated” at the star’s passing, writing: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad.

“Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.”
With tributes flooding in for the star, attention turned to Sinead’s social media accounts, and her final post was a touching photo of her son Shane.
Shane sadly passed away in 2022 from suicide after going missing a few days prior.
After his disappearance, police launched an appeal to help find him but not long after Sinead later confirmed he had taken his own life.
Sinead shared a picture of Shane on social media and wrote: “Been living as undead night creature since. He was the love of my life, the lamp of my soul.”
Last year, Sinead confirmed her son’s sad passing on Twitter with an emotional tribute.
She wrote: “My beautiful son, Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, the very light of my life, decided to end his earthly struggle today and is now with God.
“May he rest in peace and may no one follow his example. My baby. I love you so much. Please be at peace.”
When Shane missing, Sinead used social media to urge people to help find where her son is.
Not only this, the hitmaker made a public appeal to her son, pleading with him to get in touch with the police so they could get him the help he desperately required.
She wrote: “Shane, your life is precious. God didn’t chisel that beautiful smile on your beautiful face for nothing.
“My world would collapse without you. You are my heart. Please don’t stop it from beating. Please don’t harm yourself.”
She continued: “Go to the Gardai and let’s get you to hospital. This is a message for my son, Shane.
“Shane, it’s not funny anymore all this going missing. You are scaring the crap out of me.
“Could you please do the right thing and present yourself at a Gardai station. If you are with Shane please call the Gardai for his safety.”
Sinead was a mother to four children.
As well as Shane, she is also mum to son Jake Reynolds with her first husband John Reynolds, daughter Rosin Waters who she shares with Irish journalist John Waters and her youngest child Yeshua Francis Neil Bonadio, who she shares with Frank Bonadio in 2006.
Since the news of her passing, messages have flooded in from stars and fans alike.
