Original Goosebumps Carly Beth star unrecognisable decades after ditching fame

Original Goosebumps star Kathryn Long looks totally unrecognisable decades after ditching fame.

Kathryn shot to fame in the 90s kids’ show as the anxious Carly Beth Caldwell in the episode The Haunted Mask.

Carly Beth ended up with a mask she couldn’t take off when she became so desperate to scare others for a change she put on a demonic Halloween costume.

Kathryn later returned to the show in the episode The Haunted Mask II, as well as going on to star in rival kids’ horror show Are You Afraid of the Dark as Vanessa.

Kathryn Long shot to fame in four episodes of Goosebumps

Until 2002, Kathryn continued acting in various small roles, as well as starring in 13 episodes of Wind at My Back as Doris Bailey. But TV movie Crossing the Line ended up being her final project.

Known for her mouse brown hair, first worn long before being cropped into a short bob, Kathryn embodied the shy Carly Beth in the series.

But she now looks totally different with darker brunette locks worn in a sleek style down her back, and glasses to give her a professional aura.

In her latest headshot, Kathryn – who ironically acted alongside co-star Kathryn Short in the episode – wears tiny gold hoop earrings and a formal black collared shirt.

She’s also had a huge career change.

According to PopCrush, Kathryn ditched acting to become a ballet instructor at Danze Mode Productions, and has toured as a ballerina with companies like the American Ballet Theatre and the Colorado Ballet Company.

She’s also founded the Vancouver Junior Professional Division ballet school, which featured in a 2009 documentary.

It turns out Kathryn Long isn’t even her real name, but rather a pseudonym used for her acting jobs – and her real name remains unknown.

In a horrific twist of fate, Kathryn’s Goosebumps co-star Akiva David Saltzman was killed aged 32 in a gruesome incident back in 2014.

Akiva starred as Bird in the episode Say Cheese and Die, but was found dead inside a burning car in Los Angeles after allegedly working as a transporter of illicit cash.

Reports accused Akiva of being part of a billion-dollar international marijuana ring for a ‘pot kingpin’ known as Jonathon Braun.

His lawyer Howard Jacobs said it appeared the car was set on fire after the actor was shot through the window.
